Where the code starts. Two introductory courses run in parallel, one through Processing and one in C++, covering variables, control flow, functions, and the first objects.

C++ class, spring 2016. Compiled-language fundamentals: types, arrays, functions, and the beginnings of object orientation.
C++ · 2016
Three courses building the front end from bare markup upward. This is the stack the current site is still written in, and the first appearance of the WordPress work that later became professional.
Intro to web development — HTML, CSS, and WordPress, spring 2016.
HTML · 2016
Advanced front-end web development — HTML and CSS, summer 2016.
HTML · 2016
Self-contained exercises where the markup and stylesheet are the whole point.
PHP coursework. Server-side work is the through-line from here to the WordPress multisite development done professionally later.
Eighteen assignments are hosted here on the site as working pages, not just source: variables and math, functions, events, forms, dates, string formatting, a hangman game, loops, timers, optimization, validation, the DOM, jQuery, jQuery animations, jQuery HTML/CSS manipulation, and jQuery UI.
18 exercises · browsable and runnable in place
A full semester of Java across fifteen repositories: weekly labs, graded assignments, a midterm, and a final. This is the largest single block of coursework in the account, and where classes, collections, and inheritance were worked through properly.
Later coursework returning to the server: PHP and the LAMP stack, taken after the professional WordPress work had already begun.
Two threads from this period turn up again later in the account.
PRG 147 ends at jQuery UI. The component model that replaced it is where the front-end work sits now — see the personal projects for the React and Next.js material.
The PHP and WordPress exercises became professional multisite work at the Center for Inquiry, and later the static-export pipeline for WordPress content on GitHub Pages.
This page catalogues the course repositories described so far. The account holds further student work — additional course folders, exercise sets, and practice repositories — that has not been written up here yet, and more of the 2018–2020 coursework exists than is listed above. Nothing here is edited from the original commits.
